J-AIT receives GCN Award in Collaboration with TIS, ERDC

J-AIT, Product Director, Transportation Information Systems (PD TIS), and Engineer Research Development Center (ERDC) collaborated on the Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) Globe Services (NGS) project to enhance the joint service member's asset visibility throughout the DOD Supply Chain by enabling access to the commercial Google Earth in a .mil environment. The project was recognized by Government Computer News (GCN) and honored as one of ten 2010 Award Winners for "Outstanding Information Technology Achievement in Government."

The 23rd Annual GCN Awards recognize extraordinary work by agency IT teams whose innovation or achievements using technology during the past 12 months have made a significant impact on the performance of their agencies or the services they provide. J-AIT, TIS, and ERDC were recognized on 27 October at the awards gala for their collaborative efforts to bring NGS to the soldier. Enjoy the article!
